Thank you for your interest in becoming a GWAG Member. Please read the below in full before completing the application form.

1. Mission
The mission of GWAG, the Gospel Workers' Advocacy Group, is to offer personal and prayerful support to gospel workers in times of crisis. We have a particular concern for helping gospel workers in a ministry team in situations of potential conflict with others in the team where the gospel worker finds him or herself in a position where they are subject to a power imbalance.

2. Objects
The Objects of GWAG are to:
  • Assist Gospel Workers who have suffered mistreatment in the place of their employment with advice, support and advocacy services
  • Equip Gospel Workers with the tools and resources they need to ensure they understand their legal rights and responsibilities as employees
  • Advocate and make representations to employers, professional standards bodies, church leaders and denominational groups to ensure that proper employment processes are followed in relation to Gospel Workers
  • Prepare and disseminate educational resources for Gospel Workers to clearly explain their legal and other rights
3. Doctrinal Statement
The GWAG upholds the fundamental truths of the Christian faith, including:
  • The divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  • The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
  • The universal sinfulness and guilt of humanity since the fall, rendering men and women subject to God's wrath and condemnation.
  • The conception of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit and his birth by the virgin Mary.
  • Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death, as our representative and substitute, of Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God.
  • The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
  • The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective in the individual sinner, granting him or her repentance towards God, and faith in Jesus Christ.
  • The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer.
  • The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
4. Privacy Policy
GWAG’s handling of the personal information it collects and holds (including sensitive and health information) is governed by the Australian Privacy Principles and other requirements of legislation and regulators.

Any concerns about the way the GWAG has handled the personal information it holds should be made in writing and directed to Chair.

5. Membership Fees and AGM
